About Swimmetrix

Swimmetrix started with two swimmers, a shared curiosity, and a lot of time spent on pool decks asking the same question: How can swimmers better understand their swims?

Founded in Austin, Texas by high-schoolers Alex and Housen Chen, Swimmetrix grew out of their genuine love for the sport. Like many athletes, they knew what it felt like to work hard every day but still wonder what was really happening beneath the surface—what small details were holding them back, and what they could do differently to improve. Feedback was often limited, subjective, or difficult to access, especially outside of elite programs.

Instead of seeing that as a barrier, Alex and Housen saw an opportunity.

They began building Swimmetrix with the belief that swim analysis should not be reserved for a select few. Every athlete—no matter their age, level, or background—deserves tools that help them learn, grow, and feel confident in their progress. What started as a passion project quickly became a mission: to make swimming more understandable, more measurable, and ultimately more empowering.

At its heart, Swimmetrix is about helping swimmers feel supported in their journey. The team cares deeply about the sport and the people in it, and that care shows in everything they build. Their goal is not just to provide numbers or charts, but to give athletes clarity, motivation, and a stronger connection to their own performance.

Swimmetrix exists to serve swimmers—to help them see what they’re capable of, to turn effort into insight, and to make improvement feel achievable. From its beginnings in Austin to its growing community of athletes, the company remains guided by the same simple idea: when swimmers understand their swims, they can reach their full potential.
